The Best Restaurants of Saaremaa Island

Saaremaa's Best Restaurants

In our last newsletter, we mentioned the Nordic White Guide announcement featuring Estonia's best restaurants. Now let's talk a bit more about the flavours you can find on the island of Saaremaa. Keeping with the island's culture and traditions, visitors can enjoy plenty of fish and seafood as well as some modern fusion.

To try some of these tasty dishes, getting to Saaremaa is easier than ever. As always travellers can take the half-hour ferry from the mainland via Muhu, but can also fly to Saaremaa's largest city directly from Tallinn in just 40 minutes with NyxAir.

What's Cooking in Estonia - for association planners

Webinar on Estonian Cooking

The Webinar 'What’s cooking in Estonia?' may hint that the content is about the flavours of Estonia. However, this is about the flavours of event planning potential! The webinar was dedicated to the association planners and was set up to show how delicious it is to hold your meeting or plan an event in Estonia. PS, even our Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology, Andres Sutt, put on an apron - he's pictured in the centre.

The recording is available to watch with all the presentation materials.

Visit Estonia on the Road

It's been quite a year! Visit Estonia has been on the road for most of October, November and December. During that time, we've been lucky to meet our potential partners, buyers, and collaborators in person this autumn.

We've had the chance to make connections in so many places with workshops in Munich and Helsinki, Estonia breakfast in London, the Business Travellers MICE fair in Amsterdam, 5 Destinations Workshop in Brussels and Amsterdam, IBTM fair in Barcelona, BT Expo in Belgium, Aviareps Roadshow in Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Linz, Salzburg and Graz, M&I Forum in Abu Dhabi and with the USTOA yearly summit in San Diego to round out the tour. We'd like to say thank you to all of our partners and collaborators who made this such a fantastic journey.

Estonia in the Media

This article by the Mirror explores what to do with 72 hours in Tallinn. This includes bog trekking, staying in a mirror house, and foraging for one's own food, giving a different take on Estonia's capital.

Soomaa Dugout Boats

The dugout boats of Soomaa have just been added to UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list. Used as transportation during the flooding of Estonia's fifth season, these boats are made from a single tree in an age-old process.
