Welcome to Visit Estonia's November newsletter for the travel trade!

Thankfully, the Covid numbers in Estonia have begun to fall, and so did snow! With some mild minus degrees and the opening of our Christmas markets this weekend, it really makes one feel festive! And with 2022 just around the bend, it's always a good idea to plan ahead.

In the meantime, travel into Estonia has never been easier. The Tallink ferry line between Helsinki and Tallinn has announced a new ship and Finnair is re-opening a flight route from Helsinki to Tartu in South Estonia, in addition to Tallinn. Read more below.

Estonia as a digital frontrunner

“Why Estonia? 30 years from the USSR to e-Estonia” at the Vabamu Museum is a playful exhibition that focuses on the history of Estonia as a digital society, how it was formed, its achievements, and prospects for the future. Through a hands on setup and down to earth storytelling, the exhibition tries to answer the question of how Estonia, a previously agricultural country, became a digital society as well as what new challenges lie ahead for Estonia as a digital nation.

The exhibition opened on 19 November and will run until 23 October 2022, with a plan to remain permanent.

The Estonian capital, Tallinn has been designated as a UNESCO city of music and will proudly carry the title starting in 2022. As a city so full of concerts and festivals, this feels right. Especially since Tallinn is great at showcasing the wide-ranging talents of its artists, both well established and those that are up-and-coming. This means that visitors are sure to have a unique music experience when they visit.
