E-estonia tackles Covid-19

The Estonian digital community jumped on the economic challenges posed by the Covid-19. “Hack the crisis” virtual hackathon first took place in March and soon grew into a global hack taking place online across all time zones in April. The Global Hack has been covered by the CNN and an expected thousand participants were hacking the crisis over the Easter weekend.

What's Estonia doing?

First impressions: Virtual tours of Estonian museums

Virtual tour of Estonian museums

Art, history, nature and architecture have all moved online while the measures of the global quarantine are still in place. The silver lining here is that you can tour Estonian flagship museums free of charge from the comfort of your home. Among the many museums offering virtual tours are Estonian Natural History Museum, Tartu Art Museum, and Museum of Saaremaa. Estonian Natural History Museum gets especially creative by offering interactive exhibitions integrating games and virtual lessons inspired by Estonian nature.

Many of us have at least some additional time in our hands in April. It is, therefore, the perfect time to dig deeper and closer to our roots in nature. Today we bring to you a selection of tales and myths borne out of the Estonian interpretation of nature and the movement of its beloved creatures.

This month's challenge: Estonian cooking at home

Estonian cooking at home

The number one thing we recommend to do in Estonia is to indulge at one of the many Estonian restaurants mastering the New Nordic cuisine at its most flavoursome. While we’re stripped of the non-essentials, such as the opportunity to enjoy a luxurious dinner out with friends, we invite you to create your own virtual dinner party this April.

Why not challenge your friends to cook up an Estonian snack, main and dessert, and share a virtual candlelit dinner over Skype?

Challenge accepted
